Northern Glehnia Root (北沙蔘), Polygonatum odoratum (玉竹), Dried Figs (無花果), Ophiopogon (麥冬), Honey Dates (蜜棗), Dried Pear Slices (雪梨片)

Description:
Glehnia root has a sweet taste and mildly cooling nature, known for nourishing yin, clearing the lungs, and generating fluids to support digestion. There are two types of Glehnia (Northern and Southern), both beneficial for yin nourishment but with different strengths. According to the classical text Ben Cao Bian Du, Southern Glehnia excels in clearing heat, while Northern Glehnia is better for moisturizing and descending energy. Polygonatum odoratum is neutral in nature and helps nourish yin, relieve dryness, and promote hydration.

  3. Add about 1.5 liters of water to a pot and bring to a boil. Add all ingredients and simmer over low heat for about 1 hour.
  4. Add salt to taste and serve.
